From now on, Kolorádó is a year-round project, one we are planning for the long term. Here, on our own land at last, we can explore new ways of festival-making and festival-going, offering a conscious alternative to an increasingly fast-paced and alienating cultural environment. And most importantly: what we imagine and build on this land will stay with us, allowing us to grow and evolve year after year.
We want to create an ecosystem where music, arts, and nature are not escape routes, but forces that generate new patterns for everyday life throughout the rest of the year. We aim to support this not only through our programs: Káloz is being shaped in the spirit of regeneration. We will breathe life back into the dried-out lake system, establish a permaculture model farm, and re-enchant the old buildings on the site including Kolorádó’s new center, the Zichy Castle creating secret gardens and winding paths in its park.
We do all this because we believe there is and should be another way to organize festivals and to celebrate together than what we have known so far.
Over the past ten years, we have experienced how a community can become a true sustaining force. This is how we turn ten in Káloz, with you.
