We believe that the power of friendship can work wonders. The university volunteers of the Amigos for Children Foundation, the Amigos, make the everyday lives of sick children treated in hospitals more cheerful with friendship and playful language learning in 6 cities of Hungary. Children recovering in hospitals have to face many challenges in addition to their illness: they are separated from the company of their peers, their daily routines change, and they often fall behind in their studies. The aim of the Amigo classes is to help children regain control over their everyday lives, be among their peers, and gain joy through play and positive reinforcement and motivation for recovery through language learning.
