ABOUT
From now on, Kolorádó is a year-round project, one we are planning for the long term. Here, on our own land at last, we can explore new ways of festival-making and festival-going, offering a conscious alternative to an increasingly fast-paced and alienating cultural environment. What we imagine and build on this land will stay with us, allowing us to grow and evolve year after year.
We want to create an ecosystem where music, arts, and nature are not escape routes, but forces that generate new patterns for everyday life throughout the rest of the year. Káloz is being shaped in the spirit of regeneration. We will breathe life back into the dried-out lake system, establish a permaculture model farm, and re-enchant the old buildings on the site including the Zichy Castle, creating secret gardens and winding paths in its park. We do all this because we believe there is and should be another way to organize festivals and to celebrate together than what we have known so far. This is how we turn ten in Káloz, with you.
Our dear filmmaker friends, Odesa Films, directed by Bence Szemerey and Péter Becz, have made a short documentary about the past nine years, the significance of the festival, and the uncertainties of 2025.
